Presque Isle Park
Presque Isle Park in Marquette, Michigan partially owes its existence to the man who designed the grounds of Central Park.
Late in his career, Frederick Law Olmsted visited Marquette from a work trip in Chicago. Olmsted was shown Presque Isle, and asked to design a project for the land. He immediately declined, saying the spot was too beautiful to be marred by artificial objects.
